Aruba by month
Aruba in July
July is summer-vacation season — school's out, so families arrive, the beach fills up, and hotels charge more than shoulder months but less than Christmas. The weather is nearly identical to every other month (85°F, brief showers, relentless sun), but July 4th weekend stands out: Moomba Beach on Palm Beach throws the island's biggest American Independence Day party with fireworks, live music, and a sunset show that draws crowds. It's not an Aruban holiday, but the tourist energy makes it feel like one. Book early for that weekend; the rest of July is easier to lock in six weeks out.
Updated June 2026
Temperature
85°F average — hot sun, no relief from shade, same year-round warmth
Wind
Trade winds still blowing 15–20 mph; slightly calmer than May–June but enough to cool the beach and keep windsurfers happy
Rain
Rare showers — maybe a 10-minute burst in the evening, dry most days
Crowds & prices
Moderate crowds. Families take over in July — kids are out of school, so the pool deck skews younger and louder than April. Hotels run $$–$$$ (mid-range pricing, not peak winter rates but not September fire-sale territory either). Beach chairs fill up by 9am on Palm Beach during July 4th weekend; the rest of the month you'll find a spot by 10am. Restaurant reservations help but aren't desperate. Flash deals are rare this month — operators know families are coming regardless.
When to book
Book flights and hotels 6–8 weeks out for most of July. July 4th weekend is the exception — treat it like mini-high-season and book 10–12 weeks ahead or accept slim pickings and higher rates. The week after Independence Day softens immediately.
Our getting-there guide has every nonstop route to Aruba plus a cheapest-fare-by-month table to sanity-check July flight prices.
What to do
What July is made for.
On the calendar
- July 4th celebration at Moomba Beach: fireworks at sunset, live music, party vibe on Palm Beach (evening, around 9pm)
Pack for July
- SPF 50+ and reapply — the July sun is relentless and reflects off white sand
- Light long sleeves or rash guard for snorkeling and boat trips (sun + wind = burn)
- Sandals that strap on — the trade winds will blow flip-flops off the beach chair
- Sunglasses with a retention strap (windy)
- One light rain layer for the rare evening squall, but you'll likely never use it
Know before you go
- Book July 4th weekend hotels and boat trips 10–12 weeks out — it's the one spike in an otherwise bookable month
- Moomba Beach is ground zero for Independence Day: arrive by 7pm for a chair, fireworks start around 9pm, expect New Year's energy with slightly fewer crowds
- The week after July 4th sees a dip — if you want summer weather without the family surge, book July 8–15
- Palm Beach fills earlier than Eagle Beach in July; if you want elbow room, walk south or hit Arashi in the morning
- Hotel pools skew loud and kid-heavy this month — if you want quiet, mornings on the beach or adult-only resorts are your play
- Flash sales are rare in July, but compare rates across booking platforms 6 weeks out — sometimes a property will drop unsold inventory mid-June
- Trade winds are strong enough for watersports but not May–June peak; if you're learning to kitesurf, July is easier than June
