What we collect, in plain language.

The short version

One Happy Aruba is a trip-planning guide. We don't have user accounts, we don't sell personal data, and the only personal information we ever hold is what you choose to give us — an email address, a planner answer, or a correction you submit. Everything else is standard, anonymous website analytics.

What we collect and why

• Planner answers. When you use the trip planner, your answers (travel month, budget band, interests) are stored with the generated plan so your results page keeps working. They're not tied to your identity unless you add an email.
• Email addresses. Only if you ask us to send you something — a copy of your plan or one of our checklists. We use them for exactly that. Unsubscribing or asking us to delete your address always works: email hello@onehappyaruba.com.
• Corrections and suggestions. If you tell us something's out of date, we store the message (and your email, if you include one) so we can fix it.
• Outbound click logs. When you click through to a booking partner, we record that a click happened (which page, which partner) so we know what's useful. This contains no personal information.
• Analytics. We use Google Analytics, Vercel Analytics, and PostHog to understand how the site is used — pages viewed, features used, rough geography. This is aggregate usage data; we don't build personal profiles.

Cookies

The analytics tools above set their own cookies to tell visits apart. We set no advertising cookies and run no ad targeting. Browser settings or extensions that block analytics cookies won't break the site.

Affiliate links

Booking links on this site go to partners (Expedia, Viator, and others) who pay us a commission when you book — full disclosure here. When you click one, the partner's own privacy policy takes over on their site. The tracking tags in those links identify our pages, never you.

Where data lives

The site runs on Vercel; data is stored with Neon (Postgres) in the United States. Emails are sent through Resend. We keep data only as long as it's useful for the purposes above.

Your choices

Want anything we hold about you deleted — an email address, a planner session, a correction? One email to hello@onehappyaruba.com and it's done. No forms, no hoops.
