About

Ricarepa sits in Noord, tucked into a small strip near Tanki Leendert, and it's all about Venezuelan arepas done fast and cheap. The food score is perfect at 5.0, and the value score matches — you're getting stuffed corn pockets filled to order for under $10. It's the kind of place where you point at the menu board, grab a seat at one of the plastic tables, and wait for them to call your number. The service rating is also a 5.0, which tracks for a counter-service spot that keeps the line moving without cutting corners. Four reviews isn't a massive sample, but the 4.8 average and those subratings suggest consistency. The atmosphere score is lower at 4.0, which is fine — it's fast food. You're here for the filling, not the ambiance. Kids eat well here, and portions are generous enough that you might split one if you're not starving.

Tours & things to do nearby

ABC Tours Aruba

From $130 per person

ABC Tours Aruba operates out of Oranjestad and has held the #3 spot among outdoor activities in the capital for a reason — it's a full-day commitment. The standard safari runs seven hours, which is longer than most competitors, and covers Arikok National Park, the natural pool, caves, and a handful of beaches in one loop. That scope explains the $150 price point, which is about double what shorter half-day land tours charge elsewhere on the island. The back-to-back Travelers Choice awards and the volume of reviews point to consistent execution, and the guides get mentioned often — not just for driving, but for pacing the day so it doesn't feel like a forced march. Families book this because the private routes skip the roughest terrain and can accommodate infants, which matters if you're trying to see the interior without bounce-testing a car seat. If you're on a cruise, ABC coordinates timing around port schedules. If you'd rather spend half the day at a beach club, this isn't that.

De Palm Tours

From $108 per person

De Palm Tours runs a private beach club on the west coast near Oranjestad, and it's built around water activities — think slides, banana boats, snorkeling gear, and a roped-off swimming area. The #5 ranking among Oranjestad transportation reflects that this isn't just a shuttle service; most visitors book the half-day beach package that includes cabanas, towels, and food service. The back-to-back Travelers Choice awards suggest consistency, and the 4.8 rating across 26,000+ reviews backs that up. The setup skews family-friendly. Kids get underwater activities in shallow zones, parents get palapas with shade and beverage service. It's beach entertainment, not wilderness — no natural pools or cave hikes like the UTV tours that head into Arikok. Duration runs around four hours, which is enough for the slides and a meal without burning the whole day. Note that the flamingo interactions cost extra, and cabana rentals are mandatory with the package. If you want inland exploration, this isn't it. If you want a contained beach day with activities included, it does the job.

RockaBeach Tours

From $162 per person

RockaBeach Tours runs out of Oranjestad and consistently pulls top marks — #7 among all outdoor activities in the area, with back-to-back Travelers Choice awards and a 4.9 from nearly 10,000 reviews. That's not a fluke. The four-hour water tour format gives you enough time to move around the coast without burning a whole day, and the intensity level lands somewhere in the middle — expect some sun and activity, but it's not an expedition. The price sits around $75, which is competitive for a half-day boat experience in Aruba. Most routes hit snorkeling spots and coastal sights that bigger operators skip, and the crew tends to keep group sizes manageable. Direct booking is available, so you skip the markup. If you want a water day that's more structured than renting gear on your own but less anonymous than the cruise-ship charters, this is the window.

Wacky Wahoo's

Wacky Wahoo's sits along the main road in Noord, and the name tells you what you're getting into — this is casual seafood, nothing fussy. It ranks #13 out of 161 restaurants in Noord and picked up a Travelers' Choice award in 2025, which lines up with the 4.7 food rating and over 3,200 reviews. The menu leans Caribbean and seafood, and the mid-tier pricing means you're not spending Barefoot or Flying Fishbone money. The upside is you can walk in without a reservation, order something fried or grilled, and leave without drama. The 3.8 atmosphere rating is honest — it's a casual spot, not a date-night setup. Service sits at 4.5, which is solid but not flawless, and a few reports mention slow turns during peak hours. If you want reliable seafood in Noord without the planning or the upscale bill, this works.

Cafe 080

Cafe 080 is a casual Dutch-European spot on the main drag in Noord, just a few blocks from the high-rise hotels but without the resort pricing. It holds the #19 spot among 161 Noord restaurants and picked up Travelers Choice in 2025, which tracks with the subratings — atmosphere, service, and value all land above 4.6. The menu leans into Dutch cafe standards with European touches, and the single-dollar-sign tag is real. People come for breakfast and lunch that doesn't require a reservation or a dress code. Families show up without hesitation. The 4.4 food score suggests competence over fireworks, but the value and service numbers say you'll be looked after and won't leave annoyed. It's the kind of place that works when you need a break from beach clubs and want to sit down somewhere air-conditioned that isn't trying to be more than it is.

Indo

Indo is a small Indonesian spot in Noord, north of the high-rise strip, and it's ranked #38 out of 161 restaurants in the area on a budget price tier. The food rating sits at 4.5 out of 5, which is the draw here — people come for nasi goreng, satay, and rijsttafel done straightforwardly and priced to leave room for dessert somewhere else. The value subrating of 4.6 backs that up. The atmosphere score is lower at 3.6, so expect casual setup, not lingering-over-dinner ambiance. Service runs at 4.4, meaning orders come out correctly and staff keep things moving. It's kid-friendly, and you don't need a reservation, which makes it useful when the beachfront places are booked or you'd rather spend thirty dollars on dinner than sixty.

Oranjestad

Renaissance Wind Creek Aruba Resort

Renaissance Wind Creek is the only resort in downtown Oranjestad, which means you're walking distance to restaurants and shops instead of being marooned on a beach strip. The real draw is Renaissance Island, the resort's private cay — flamingos included — which you reach by complimentary boat shuttle. It's a genuine differentiator and shows up in the 4.4 location subrating. The #2 spot among Oranjestad hotels reflects consistent execution across the board: service, cleanliness, and sleep quality all hover around 4.3. Two consecutive Travelers Choice awards suggest the formula holds. The room rating sits a notch lower at 4.0, which tracks for a property this size in an urban footprint — you're trading space for location and island access. If you want a resort experience but also want to be in the capital, this is the only option that does both. The flamingo thing is real, not a gimmick, and day passes for non-guests sell out fast.

Palm Beach

Courtyard by Marriott Aruba Resort

The Courtyard by Marriott sits on J.E. Irausquin Boulevard in Noord, part of the Palm Beach hotel strip but tucked slightly back from the high-rise cluster. It ranked #2 among Noord hotels and earned a Travelers Choice nod for 2025, which lines up with what the ratings show — cleanliness scores at 4.8, rooms at 4.7, and everything else hovering around 4.6. The four-dollar-sign price tier puts it on the higher end, but the value subrating held steady at 4.5, so guests seem fine with what they're paying for. The property draws couples and families who want the Marriott reliability without the mega-resort feel. Location rating matches the overall at 4.6, meaning beach access and proximity to dining work in its favor. Sleep quality and service both hit 4.6 as well, which suggests the basics are covered and the staff shows up when needed. If you're looking for something between boutique and towering resort complex, this is the middle lane.

Eagle Beach

Eagle Aruba Resort

Eagle Aruba Resort sits on the south end of Eagle Beach, the wide stretch of white sand that runs along J.E. Irausquin Boulevard. It's ranked #12 out of 26 hotels in the Palm-Eagle Beach area and carries back-to-back Travelers Choice awards from 2025 and 2026. The four-dollar price tier puts it at the higher end, and the 4.2 value subrating suggests guests think the money lands where it should. Location scores highest at 4.3 out of 5, which tracks — Eagle Beach is consistently rated one of the best beaches in the Caribbean, and this property puts you right on it. Sleep quality and rooms both clear 4.0, and service comes in at 4.1. Over three thousand reviews give the overall rating some weight. It's not trying to be boutique or experimental; it's a solid resort play on a very good beach.

Noord

BBQ Express Aruba

BBQ Express sits in Noord, close enough to the hotel strip to catch the lunch crowd but tucked off the main drag. It's a counter-service spot doing Caribbean barbecue and quick plates — ribs, chicken, local sides — at budget prices that make sense if you're eating multiple meals out per day. The 4.7 food rating is the standout here, especially at this price point. It ranks #57 out of 161 restaurants in Noord, which is solid for fast casual. The vibe is exactly what the name suggests: order at the counter, grab a table, eat. It's not a sit-down experience, but that's the trade for speed and cost. Families show up regularly, and it works fine for kids who just want chicken and fries. No reservations, no fuss. If you're looking for a quick barbecue fix without the table-service markup, this does the job.

Noord

Julio's Corner

Julio's Corner operates out of a food truck in the bowling alley parking lot in Noord. It's fast food and barbecue done the local way — quick service, outdoor seating, and prices that don't punish you for eating on the road. The 4.7 service rating backs up what regulars say: the crew keeps things moving and friendly even when the line stretches. The food rating sits at 4.6, which is high for this price tier. You're getting grilled chicken, ribs, and burgers that don't feel like an afterthought. The atmosphere is what it is — plastic chairs, open air, cars pulling in and out — but that's also why it works. Families stop by without stress. Value rating is 4.4, and at this price level that tracks. If you're staying in Palm Beach or the high-rise zone and want something cheap and filling without sitting down for two hours, this is the spot. Cash makes it faster.
