Lucca Trattoria Aruba is a $$$ italian & pizza casual restaurant in Palm Beach rated 4.6/5 by 749 TripAdvisor reviewers; walk-ins welcome.

About

Lucca Trattoria sits right on the Palm Beach strip, close to the high-rise hotels, and it runs proper Italian — Tuscan-leaning, wood-fired pizzas, the kind of place where the menu doesn't rely on fusion shortcuts. The #15 ranking out of 161 in Noord puts it in solid company, and the 4.6 across food, service, and atmosphere suggests consistency more than one-hit nights. The vibe is casual enough for families but polished enough that you're not eating in a beach shack. Pizza comes out charred and fast; pasta holds up if you're after something heavier. The price sits in the mid-range for Palm Beach — not cheap, but not the top-tier resort rate either. Value scores a 4.5, which tracks if you're splitting a few plates. Walk-ins usually work, but if you're coming during high season or with a larger group, calling ahead saves the wait. It's open-air, so factor in the heat if you're picky about air conditioning.

Tours & things to do nearby

ABC Tours Aruba

From $130 per person

ABC Tours Aruba operates out of Oranjestad and has held the #3 spot among outdoor activities in the capital for a reason — it's a full-day commitment. The standard safari runs seven hours, which is longer than most competitors, and covers Arikok National Park, the natural pool, caves, and a handful of beaches in one loop. That scope explains the $150 price point, which is about double what shorter half-day land tours charge elsewhere on the island. The back-to-back Travelers Choice awards and the volume of reviews point to consistent execution, and the guides get mentioned often — not just for driving, but for pacing the day so it doesn't feel like a forced march. Families book this because the private routes skip the roughest terrain and can accommodate infants, which matters if you're trying to see the interior without bounce-testing a car seat. If you're on a cruise, ABC coordinates timing around port schedules. If you'd rather spend half the day at a beach club, this isn't that.

De Palm Tours

From $108 per person

De Palm Tours runs a private beach club on the west coast near Oranjestad, and it's built around water activities — think slides, banana boats, snorkeling gear, and a roped-off swimming area. The #5 ranking among Oranjestad transportation reflects that this isn't just a shuttle service; most visitors book the half-day beach package that includes cabanas, towels, and food service. The back-to-back Travelers Choice awards suggest consistency, and the 4.8 rating across 26,000+ reviews backs that up. The setup skews family-friendly. Kids get underwater activities in shallow zones, parents get palapas with shade and beverage service. It's beach entertainment, not wilderness — no natural pools or cave hikes like the UTV tours that head into Arikok. Duration runs around four hours, which is enough for the slides and a meal without burning the whole day. Note that the flamingo interactions cost extra, and cabana rentals are mandatory with the package. If you want inland exploration, this isn't it. If you want a contained beach day with activities included, it does the job.

RockaBeach Tours

From $162 per person

RockaBeach Tours runs out of Oranjestad and consistently pulls top marks — #7 among all outdoor activities in the area, with back-to-back Travelers Choice awards and a 4.9 from nearly 10,000 reviews. That's not a fluke. The four-hour water tour format gives you enough time to move around the coast without burning a whole day, and the intensity level lands somewhere in the middle — expect some sun and activity, but it's not an expedition. The price sits around $75, which is competitive for a half-day boat experience in Aruba. Most routes hit snorkeling spots and coastal sights that bigger operators skip, and the crew tends to keep group sizes manageable. Direct booking is available, so you skip the markup. If you want a water day that's more structured than renting gear on your own but less anonymous than the cruise-ship charters, this is the window.

Recent Pulse

What travelers are saying.

Steady

Low confidence

Travelers say Lucca delivers legitimately good Italian in the Palm Beach area, anchored by wood-fired pizza that New Yorkers and Italy veterans vouch for. The homemade pasta—gnocchi especially—gets repeated praise, and portions run generous without resort-gouging on price. Service stands out: reviewers name-drop Gabriel, Gaudys, and Samir repeatedly for remembering orders, offering smart recommendations, and keeping water glasses full in the heat. The open-air setup keeps things casual, though a few mention loud music or bugs when the breeze drops. You'll eat well for around $185 for four people with appetizers and dessert, which tracks as fair value against Palm Beach competition.

Standing out

Wood-fired pizza earns direct comparisons to NYC and Italy, with crust light enough to finish and a signature garlic butter dip for the edges
62 mentions
“Better than 75% of what you get in the US outside New York, rivals anything we had in Rome”
Homemade gnocchi and fresh pasta cooked al dente, with vodka rigatoni and carbonara landing as standout sauces
48 mentions
“Gnocchi melt-in-your-mouth tender, pesto-Sorrentina fusion brought incredible flavor”
Servers Gabriel, Gaudys, and Samir mentioned by name for attentive service, menu knowledge, and remembering guest preferences
73 mentions
“Gabriel learned our names, offered perfect wine pairings, made it feel personal”
Price-to-portion ratio runs fair: $185 for four people with apps and dessert, versus higher resort pricing nearby
18 mentions
“Four entrees, two apps, two desserts for $185 beats expensive mediocre spots around here”
Tiramisu and arancini called out repeatedly as standouts, with tiramisu ranking among best-ever for multiple reviewers
22 mentions
“Tiramisu probably the best we've had, arancini crisp outside and full of flavor”

Watch-outs

No bill-splitting allowed per company policy, causing friction at checkout for larger groups
3 mentions
“They refuse to split bills, claim it's company rule, creates hassle for customers”
Service can lag badly during rushes: 20+ minute waits for checks, forgotten orders, and understaffing reported in multiple visits
9 mentions
“Waited 23 minutes between first and last pizza, waiter kept saying two more minutes”
Bread charged at $5 for three pieces of toast, seen as nickel-and-diming given Italian dining norms
4 mentions
“Five dollars for three toast pieces feels like a ripoff when bread is an Italian staple”

Tips from travelers

Request Gabriel, Gaudys, or Samir by name if booking—reviews consistently cite them for exceptional service
Order the garlic butter dip with pizza and use it on the crust edges for maximum payoff
Come before 4pm for lunch specials priced in florins that beat dinner rates
Apply bug spray before sitting if you pick outdoor seating on low-wind evenings

Maybe skip if: Skip if you need air conditioning—the open-air layout means fans and ambient breeze only, which can feel sweltering on calm nights.

Gianni's Ristorante Italiano

Gianni's sits on the hotel strip in Palm Beach, an upscale Italian spot serving Neapolitan and Sicilian dishes. The #22 ranking among 155 Palm Beach restaurants puts it solidly mid-pack, and the ratings reflect that: 4.4 for food, 4.5 for atmosphere, 4.0 for value. It's a convenient walk from the high-rise hotels, takes reservations, and handles families without fuss. The upside is accessibility — if you're staying on Palm Beach and want Italian without getting in a car, it's there. The trade-off is that you're paying upper-mid pricing for food that doesn't always land as authentic. The atmosphere scores higher than the cooking, which tells you something about the experience. If you're traveling with kids who eat pasta and you need outdoor seating near your hotel, it works. If you're chasing the best Italian on the island or want your money to stretch further, you'll find stronger options in Savaneta or Eagle Beach.

Dushi Bagels and Burgers

Dushi Bagels and Burgers sits just off the beach at the Playa Linda Resort in Palm Beach, and the 4.6 rating across more than four thousand reviews isn't a fluke. This is the place that figured out how to do American breakfast and lunch basics right—bagels, burgers, grill staples—without overcomplicating things or overcharging. The atmosphere score is the highest of the bunch, which makes sense when you're eating pancakes ten feet from the sand. The #10 ranking among 155 restaurants in the Palm-Eagle Beach strip says it holds its own against a lot of fancier rooms. Service and value ratings match the food score straight across, so what you see is what you get. It's casual, it's kid-friendly, and it moves. If you're staying nearby and need a solid breakfast that isn't a buffet or a burger that isn't from a chain, this works.

Azia Restaurant & Lounge

Azia sits on J.E. Irausquin Boulevard in Palm Beach, across from the Hilton, and it's been holding the #12 spot among 155 restaurants in the area with nearly 3,000 reviews. The menu runs Asian fusion and sushi, executed at an upscale level without tipping into formal—atmosphere scores a 4.8, which tracks with the lounge setup. Food and service both land at 4.7, so the kitchen and floor staff are moving in step. The price tier falls at mid-to-upper range, and the value subrating of 4.5 suggests people think it's fair for what you get. It's also kid-friendly, which isn't always a given at this caliber in Palm Beach. Reservations aren't required, but with numbers like these, calling ahead on a high-season weekend would be the smarter play.

Eagle Beach

Bucuti & Tara Beach Resort Aruba

Bucuti & Tara sits on the quieter stretch of Eagle Beach, and it's adults-only by design. That #1 ranking among Palm-Eagle Beach hotels isn't decorative — the numbers back it up across location, service, and cleanliness, all sitting at 4.9 out of 5. Sleep quality and rooms both land at 4.8, which makes sense once you see the property: low-density, beachfront, built for the kind of guest who wants the sand without the pool party soundtrack. Back-to-back Travelers Choice Best of the Best awards in 2025 and 2026 confirm what the nearly 11,000 reviews suggest: people return, and they tell others to book. The price level is top-tier, and the value subrating reflects that — still solid at 4.6, but you're paying for the category it occupies. Service scores mirror the location and cleanliness ratings, meaning the staff-to-guest ratio shows. If you want Eagle Beach access without family chaos and you're willing to spend accordingly, this is the benchmark property.

Palm Beach

Aruba Marriott Resort & Stellaris Casino

The Aruba Marriott sits on L.G. Smith Boulevard in Palm Beach, right where the high-rise strip meets the sand. It's a full-scale resort with a casino attached, so expect crowds, especially around the pool and lobby bars. The 4.7 cleanliness rating and 4.6 service score suggest the operation runs tight despite the size, and sleep quality holds at 4.5, which matters when you're paying top-tier rates. It ranks #20 out of 26 hotels in the Palm-Eagle Beach zone, so it's middle-of-the-pack for the area — the location and service scores pull it up, the value rating at 4.2 reflects what you're spending. If you want the Marriott reliability and don't mind resort-scale energy, it works. The beach access is the real asset here; Palm Beach is wide and swimmable, and you're walking distance to most of the strip's restaurants and bars.

Eagle Beach

Manchebo Beach Resort & Spa

Manchebo sits on a wide, quiet stretch of Eagle Beach, right where the sand gets softer and the crowds thin out. The #4 ranking among Palm - Eagle Beach hotels makes sense when you look at the subratings — location and service both clear 4.8, and guests consistently mention the beach itself as a reason to stay. The resort skews boutique rather than high-rise, and the vibe follows: low-key, adults-focused, with a spa that actually gets used. The price tier is top-end, but the value score holds at 4.5, which suggests people feel like they're getting what they paid for. Rooms are spacious and clean, though the 4.5 room rating means they're comfortable without being flashy. The Travelers Choice Best of the Best award for 2025 puts it in rare company — fewer than 1% of properties worldwide get that designation. If you want Eagle Beach access without the mega-resort apparatus, this is the pick.

Calabria Trattoria

Calabria sits in the Metro Mall complex on Palm Beach, which isn't the setting you'd expect for the #3 restaurant in the area. The draw is straightforward: Italian food prepared the way travelers say it should be, without the upscale dress code or the markup. The 4.9 on food isn't common at this price tier, and the subratings hold across service and value, which explains the ranking among 155 competitors. The kitchen sticks to Italian and pizza, and regulars mention authenticity more than ambiance — this is casual island dining, not a date spot. Families show up. Groups show up. The vibe works if you care more about what's on the plate than what's on the walls. One practical note: at least one diner reported a service fee added to the bill despite the menu stating otherwise, so check the total before you settle up. Reservations help.
