Faro Blanco Restaurant is a $$$$ italian & european upscale restaurant in Noord rated 4.0/5 by 2,718 TripAdvisor reviewers; reservations recommended.

About

Faro Blanco sits inside the California Lighthouse on Aruba's northwest tip, which means the views are automatic—sweeping coast, shipwrecks in the shallows, sunsets that pack the terrace. The Italian and European menu plays it upscale, and the 4.7 atmosphere score backs that up. People come as much for the setting as the plate, which is fair when you're eating inside a working lighthouse. The food rating runs a bit cooler at 4.0, and value checks in at 3.6—top-dollar pricing lands harder when the kitchen doesn't overdeliver. Service is steady at 4.1. It's kid-friendly despite the white-tablecloth vibe, and reservations aren't optional. Ranked #37 out of 161 spots in Noord, it's reliable for a special-occasion dinner with a view you can't get anywhere else on the island. Just set expectations around the bill and the fact that you're paying for the real estate as much as the risotto.

Jolly Pirates Cruises

From $108 per person

Jolly Pirates runs a four-hour catamaran cruise out of Hadicurari, the fishing pier on the northwest coast near the high-rise hotels. The boat is ranked #7 among Oranjestad water sports for a reason: multiple snorkel stops, rope swings off the stern, and a crew that keeps the vibe relaxed without being forced. You'll hit at least two reef sites, and the water is shallow enough that kids can snorkel comfortably—this is the lowest-intensity water activity in the category. Morning departures include a full meal; afternoon trips are drinks only, so check the schedule when you book. At $90, it's positioned between De Palm Tours' beach club package with slides and banana boats and the pricier land-based jeep safaris. If you want open water over a beach club, and sailing over driving through Arikok, this is the call. Book direct through their site. Cash tip for the crew is standard.

Octopus Sailing Charters

Octopus Sailing Charters runs three-hour trips off the Palm-Eagle Beach coast, and the 4.7 rating across thousands of reviews suggests they keep things consistent. The Travelers Choice award backs that up. It's a mid-intensity outing — you're on a catamaran, not in a kayak — so it works for most ages and fitness levels. The boat makes stops for snorkeling and usually swings by a shipwreck or two depending on conditions. Crew handles the sailing; you handle the sunscreen. The $75 price point sits in the middle of the water sports market here, which tracks for a half-day charter with gear included. Groups tend to be mixed, so expect other travelers. Book directly through their site. Morning departures are cooler and the water's usually calmer before noon, though afternoon light is better for photos if that matters to you.

Delphi Watersports

From $69 per person

Delphi Watersports runs out of the Hyatt Regency beach on Palm Beach, and it's been doing it long enough to land at #7 among water sports operators in Noord—plus a 2025 Travelers Choice award. The 4.7 rating across 3,200 reviews suggests they get the logistics right, which matters when you're dealing with boats and gear and group timing. They offer two-hour trips that lean moderately active—think snorkeling, tubing, or a mix depending on what you book. It's a straightforward setup: walk down to the towel hut, check in, and you're on the water. Pricing sits around $75, which is middle-of-the-pack for Palm Beach excursions. Book direct through them if you can; it usually saves a step and sometimes a fee. They're used to handling families and mixed groups, so the intensity stays manageable even if you're not a strong swimmer.

Recent Pulse

What travelers are saying.

Steady

Low confidence

Travelers say the sunset view from this California Lighthouse perch is unmatched on Aruba, but food quality has declined sharply in the last 18 months. Service swings from attentive to indifferent, and many report cold entrees, rubbery seafood, and watered-down drinks at premium prices. The digital-only menu frustrates diners, and the $3 'sparkler fee' for complimentary desserts drew complaints. Positive mentions cluster around vodka sauce dishes, lamb chops when cooked properly, and servers like Kingsley and Sherwin. Expect gnats after rain and long taxi waits at night—this is a location play, not a culinary one.

Standing out

Sunset views from the terrace are spectacular and unmatched anywhere else on the island
87 mentions
“Timed our 6:30pm reservation perfectly to watch the sun set over the water with the lighthouse behind us”
Fettuccine with vodka sauce earns consistent praise for creamy, well-balanced flavor
18 mentions
“The vodka sauce pasta was the only dish all week that made me order seconds”
Servers Kingsley and Sherwin provide attentive service, remembering repeat guests and offering to take sunset photos
14 mentions
“Sherwin moved us inside during rain then back out when it cleared without us asking”
Lamb chops arrive tender and properly cooked when kitchen gets it right
12 mentions
“Best lamb I've had at any restaurant—melted in my mouth and seasoned perfectly”

Watch-outs

Entrees arrive cold or lukewarm, requiring returns to the kitchen that rarely fix the problem
34 mentions
“Pasta came out cold twice, risotto tasted like it sat under a heat lamp for an hour”
Hostess and front desk staff are dismissive or outright rude, especially when handling taxi calls or reservation issues
22 mentions
“The woman at the desk was the only nasty person we met in 25 years of Aruba visits”
Digital-only menu accessed via QR code frustrates diners, especially when WiFi fails or servers lack backup codes
19 mentions
“Had to walk back to the entrance mid-meal just to photograph the QR code again”
Food quality has declined sharply since 2023, with repeat visitors reporting thin sauces, frozen ingredients, and bland seasoning
28 mentions
“We've come here for ten years and this was the worst meal we've ever had on the island”

Tips from travelers

Reserve before 7pm to catch sunset and request a table on the outer railing
Bring a hair tie and bug spray—gnats swarm after rain and wind is constant
Arrange your own taxi back if dining late; the restaurant only calls once and waits exceed 45 minutes

Maybe skip if: Skip this if you're prioritizing food quality over views—the kitchen delivers inconsistently and prices don't match plate execution.

Ocean Z Restaurant

Ocean Z sits at the Bucuti resort on Eagle Beach in Noord, and while it's technically open to non-guests, reservations are mandatory — this isn't a walk-in spot. The #2 restaurant ranking in Noord and a Best of the Best award for 2025 both track with the numbers: 4.9s across food, atmosphere, and service, with nearly 2,000 reviews holding that line. The menu leans seafood with international and fusion touches, and the price tier reflects it — this is a four-dollar-sign dinner. What stands out is the consistency; when value still clears 4.8 at this price point, the kitchen and front-of-house are doing something right. The setting is upscale without being stiff, and the beachfront location helps. It's not a casual family spot — no kids' menu, and the vibe skews couples and special occasions. Book ahead, expect to spend, and plan your evening around it.

Opus Ocean & Grill

Opus Ocean & Grill sits in Noord, inland from the high-rise strip, and it's ranked #3 out of 161 restaurants in the area for a reason. The upscale vibe and Italian-leaning seafood menu draw a crowd that knows what they're paying for — this is the top price tier on the island — but the 4.9 rating across nearly 1,900 reviews suggests people walk out satisfied. Service gets the highest subrating at 4.9, which tracks with the Travelers' Choice award for 2025. The kitchen does Italian and European dishes alongside seafood, and the atmosphere rating matches the food, both at 4.8. It's not a casual shorts-and-sandals spot; expect tablecloths and a quieter room. Value scores 4.7, which is strong considering the price point — you're not getting bargain pasta, but the execution seems to justify the check. Reservations aren't required according to the attributes, but with this kind of ranking, calling ahead is probably the smarter play.

Agrigento Ristorante Italiano

Agrigento sits tucked into the Aruba Racquet Club grounds in Noord, and it's about as close as you'll get to a proper Sicilian table without leaving the island. The #6 ranking among Noord restaurants is backed by near-perfect subratings across food, service, and atmosphere—all at 4.9—which tells you something about consistency. The kitchen runs Italian with a Sicilian lean, and the upscale vibe doesn't mean stuffy; families show up here without issue. The 2025 Travelers Choice award reflects what the numbers already said: people return. The price sits in the mid-to-upper range for Aruba, but the value rating holds at 4.8, so portions and execution seem to justify it. It's not on the main drag, which works in its favor—quieter, less foot traffic chaos. Reservations aren't required, but the review count suggests it fills reliably.

Palm Beach

Aruba Marriott Resort & Stellaris Casino

The Aruba Marriott sits on L.G. Smith Boulevard in Palm Beach, right where the high-rise strip meets the sand. It's a full-scale resort with a casino attached, so expect crowds, especially around the pool and lobby bars. The 4.7 cleanliness rating and 4.6 service score suggest the operation runs tight despite the size, and sleep quality holds at 4.5, which matters when you're paying top-tier rates. It ranks #20 out of 26 hotels in the Palm-Eagle Beach zone, so it's middle-of-the-pack for the area — the location and service scores pull it up, the value rating at 4.2 reflects what you're spending. If you want the Marriott reliability and don't mind resort-scale energy, it works. The beach access is the real asset here; Palm Beach is wide and swimmable, and you're walking distance to most of the strip's restaurants and bars.

Palm Beach

The Ritz-carlton, Aruba

The Ritz-Carlton anchors the north end of Palm Beach's high-rise strip, and it shows up exactly where you'd expect in the Noord rankings — #4 out of 13. The 4.7 cleanliness score and 4.6 for sleep quality suggest the basics are locked in, and the Travelers Choice awards in both 2025 and 2026 confirm it's holding steady at the top tier. Service runs at 4.5, which is respectable but not flawless. The price level is maxed out at four dollar signs, so you're paying for the name and the Palm Beach address. Location gets the highest marks at 4.6, which makes sense — you're walking distance to the casino strip and the full lineup of Palm Beach restaurants. The 4.0 value score is the tellable gap; people know what they're getting, but they're also aware of what they're spending. If you want Ritz consistency on a busy stretch of beach, this is the play.

Eagle Beach

Boardwalk Boutique Hotel Aruba

Boardwalk Boutique sits back from the beach in Palm Beach, tucked into a quieter pocket of the high-rise strip. It's the #2 hotel in the area, and the subratings tell you why: perfect scores for rooms and cleanliness, near-perfect for sleep quality and service. The price tier is top-end, but the value rating holds at 4.8, which suggests the experience justifies the spend. Best of the Best awards two years running don't hurt either. The boutique label means something here — this isn't a sprawling resort with three pools and a casino. You get a smaller property, tighter attention to detail, and a setup that skews toward couples looking for calm over activity. Location rating is 4.9, so you're well positioned for the beach and the restaurant row without being right on top of either. If you want staff who remember your name and a room that doesn't feel mass-produced, this is the play. Just know you're paying for it.

"Anna-Maria's Autentico Ristorante Italiano".

Anna-Maria's sits in Noord, a few blocks inland from the high-rise strip, and it's been pulling the upscale Italian dinner crowd for years. The #18 spot out of 161 Noord restaurants reflects consistency more than fireworks — the 4.6 food score and Travelers Choice award suggest they're doing something right with the menu, even if the 4.3 value rating hints that the $$$$ price tier shows up on the check. The atmosphere score matches the food, which makes sense for a place that leans upscale but still welcomes families. Service sits at 4.5, so the room doesn't run itself, but it's not flawless either. The review volume — over 1,400 — means you're not discovering anything, but you're also not gambling. Reservations aren't required, though calling ahead on a busy night probably helps if you want a table before eight.
