About

Bavaria sits on Palm Beach, in a low-key plaza next to Wendy's — not glamorous, but the schnitzel doesn't care. This is the German spot on the island, and it ranks #24 out of 155 restaurants in the area for a reason: the kitchen executes. The 4.7 food score matches the service score, which tells you consistency isn't a problem. Portions lean generous, prices sit in the middle range, and the value rating backs that up. The vibe is casual, closer to a neighborhood biergarten than anything fussy. Families show up regularly. If you're after bratwurst, sauerbraten, or a proper schnitzel plate in the middle of the Caribbean, this is where it happens. The Travelers Choice award for 2025 confirms what the nearly 2,000 reviews already suggest — it works, and people come back.

ABC Tours Aruba

From $130 per person

ABC Tours Aruba operates out of Oranjestad and has held the #3 spot among outdoor activities in the capital for a reason — it's a full-day commitment. The standard safari runs seven hours, which is longer than most competitors, and covers Arikok National Park, the natural pool, caves, and a handful of beaches in one loop. That scope explains the $150 price point, which is about double what shorter half-day land tours charge elsewhere on the island. The back-to-back Travelers Choice awards and the volume of reviews point to consistent execution, and the guides get mentioned often — not just for driving, but for pacing the day so it doesn't feel like a forced march. Families book this because the private routes skip the roughest terrain and can accommodate infants, which matters if you're trying to see the interior without bounce-testing a car seat. If you're on a cruise, ABC coordinates timing around port schedules. If you'd rather spend half the day at a beach club, this isn't that.

De Palm Tours

From $108 per person

De Palm Tours runs a private beach club on the west coast near Oranjestad, and it's built around water activities — think slides, banana boats, snorkeling gear, and a roped-off swimming area. The #5 ranking among Oranjestad transportation reflects that this isn't just a shuttle service; most visitors book the half-day beach package that includes cabanas, towels, and food service. The back-to-back Travelers Choice awards suggest consistency, and the 4.8 rating across 26,000+ reviews backs that up. The setup skews family-friendly. Kids get underwater activities in shallow zones, parents get palapas with shade and beverage service. It's beach entertainment, not wilderness — no natural pools or cave hikes like the UTV tours that head into Arikok. Duration runs around four hours, which is enough for the slides and a meal without burning the whole day. Note that the flamingo interactions cost extra, and cabana rentals are mandatory with the package. If you want inland exploration, this isn't it. If you want a contained beach day with activities included, it does the job.

RockaBeach Tours

From $162 per person

RockaBeach Tours runs out of Oranjestad and consistently pulls top marks — #7 among all outdoor activities in the area, with back-to-back Travelers Choice awards and a 4.9 from nearly 10,000 reviews. That's not a fluke. The four-hour water tour format gives you enough time to move around the coast without burning a whole day, and the intensity level lands somewhere in the middle — expect some sun and activity, but it's not an expedition. The price sits around $75, which is competitive for a half-day boat experience in Aruba. Most routes hit snorkeling spots and coastal sights that bigger operators skip, and the crew tends to keep group sizes manageable. Direct booking is available, so you skip the markup. If you want a water day that's more structured than renting gear on your own but less anonymous than the cruise-ship charters, this is the window.

What travelers are saying.

Steady

Low confidence

Travelers say Bavaria delivers authentic German comfort food that rivals what you'd find in Germany itself. The owner Peter and his German staff create a warm, repeat-customer atmosphere where guests feel like family—many return annually, some for over a decade. Schnitzel arrives thin and crispy, sauerbraten is fork-tender with balanced sweet-tangy sauce, and portions justify the mid-range prices. The beer selection exceeds 150 German, Belgian, and Austrian options, with Peter offering personalized recommendations based on your preferences. Despite the strip-mall location next to KFC, the Bavarian decor and polka music transport you to southern Germany.

Standing out

Owner Peter provides personalized German beer recommendations from 150+ bottle selection
18 mentions
“Peter suggests beers based on your taste and he's always spot-on with his picks”
Schnitzel (veal, pork, chicken) served thin and crispy with spätzle and mushroom gravy
22 mentions
“The schnitzel breading was so delicate and light, mushroom sauce incredibly flavorful”
Sauerbraten arrives tender with sweet-tangy sauce adjustable to preference, paired with red cabbage
12 mentions
“The sauerbraten was fork-tender with perfectly balanced sweet sauce, not too sour”
Staff treat repeat guests like family, remembering faces across years and decades
15 mentions
“After 14 years of visits, the staff still welcomes us back like old friends”
Potato pancakes made-to-order with authentic unsweetened applesauce, not American-style sugared
9 mentions
“The potato pancakes were outstanding with applesauce absent the crazy sugar typically added stateside”

Watch-outs

Strip-mall location next to KFC and Wendy's appears tacky from outside despite quality inside
4 mentions
“Looks like a tourist trap from outside but don't let the modest surroundings fool you”
Small upcharges for condiments like sour cream ($2) feel like nickel-and-diming
1 mention
“The $2 upcharge for sour cream left a bitter taste”

Tips from travelers

Reserve a table after 6:30pm when the restaurant gets busiest
Ask Peter to recommend beer based on what you normally drink—he'll nail it
Request sauerbraten sourness adjusted to your preference when ordering
Try potato pancakes as an appetizer even if not ordering German entrees

Maybe skip if: If you need upscale resort ambiance or can't look past strip-mall exteriors, the casual biergarten setting won't satisfy you.

Gianni's Ristorante Italiano

Gianni's sits on the hotel strip in Palm Beach, an upscale Italian spot serving Neapolitan and Sicilian dishes. The #22 ranking among 155 Palm Beach restaurants puts it solidly mid-pack, and the ratings reflect that: 4.4 for food, 4.5 for atmosphere, 4.0 for value. It's a convenient walk from the high-rise hotels, takes reservations, and handles families without fuss. The upside is accessibility — if you're staying on Palm Beach and want Italian without getting in a car, it's there. The trade-off is that you're paying upper-mid pricing for food that doesn't always land as authentic. The atmosphere scores higher than the cooking, which tells you something about the experience. If you're traveling with kids who eat pasta and you need outdoor seating near your hotel, it works. If you're chasing the best Italian on the island or want your money to stretch further, you'll find stronger options in Savaneta or Eagle Beach.

Dushi Bagels and Burgers

Dushi Bagels and Burgers sits just off the beach at the Playa Linda Resort in Palm Beach, and the 4.6 rating across more than four thousand reviews isn't a fluke. This is the place that figured out how to do American breakfast and lunch basics right—bagels, burgers, grill staples—without overcomplicating things or overcharging. The atmosphere score is the highest of the bunch, which makes sense when you're eating pancakes ten feet from the sand. The #10 ranking among 155 restaurants in the Palm-Eagle Beach strip says it holds its own against a lot of fancier rooms. Service and value ratings match the food score straight across, so what you see is what you get. It's casual, it's kid-friendly, and it moves. If you're staying nearby and need a solid breakfast that isn't a buffet or a burger that isn't from a chain, this works.

Azia Restaurant & Lounge

Azia sits on J.E. Irausquin Boulevard in Palm Beach, across from the Hilton, and it's been holding the #12 spot among 155 restaurants in the area with nearly 3,000 reviews. The menu runs Asian fusion and sushi, executed at an upscale level without tipping into formal—atmosphere scores a 4.8, which tracks with the lounge setup. Food and service both land at 4.7, so the kitchen and floor staff are moving in step. The price tier falls at mid-to-upper range, and the value subrating of 4.5 suggests people think it's fair for what you get. It's also kid-friendly, which isn't always a given at this caliber in Palm Beach. Reservations aren't required, but with numbers like these, calling ahead on a high-season weekend would be the smarter play.

Eagle Beach

Bucuti & Tara Beach Resort Aruba

Bucuti & Tara sits on the quieter stretch of Eagle Beach, and it's adults-only by design. That #1 ranking among Palm-Eagle Beach hotels isn't decorative — the numbers back it up across location, service, and cleanliness, all sitting at 4.9 out of 5. Sleep quality and rooms both land at 4.8, which makes sense once you see the property: low-density, beachfront, built for the kind of guest who wants the sand without the pool party soundtrack. Back-to-back Travelers Choice Best of the Best awards in 2025 and 2026 confirm what the nearly 11,000 reviews suggest: people return, and they tell others to book. The price level is top-tier, and the value subrating reflects that — still solid at 4.6, but you're paying for the category it occupies. Service scores mirror the location and cleanliness ratings, meaning the staff-to-guest ratio shows. If you want Eagle Beach access without family chaos and you're willing to spend accordingly, this is the benchmark property.

Palm Beach

Aruba Marriott Resort & Stellaris Casino

The Aruba Marriott sits on L.G. Smith Boulevard in Palm Beach, right where the high-rise strip meets the sand. It's a full-scale resort with a casino attached, so expect crowds, especially around the pool and lobby bars. The 4.7 cleanliness rating and 4.6 service score suggest the operation runs tight despite the size, and sleep quality holds at 4.5, which matters when you're paying top-tier rates. It ranks #20 out of 26 hotels in the Palm-Eagle Beach zone, so it's middle-of-the-pack for the area — the location and service scores pull it up, the value rating at 4.2 reflects what you're spending. If you want the Marriott reliability and don't mind resort-scale energy, it works. The beach access is the real asset here; Palm Beach is wide and swimmable, and you're walking distance to most of the strip's restaurants and bars.

Eagle Beach

Manchebo Beach Resort & Spa

Manchebo sits on a wide, quiet stretch of Eagle Beach, right where the sand gets softer and the crowds thin out. The #4 ranking among Palm - Eagle Beach hotels makes sense when you look at the subratings — location and service both clear 4.8, and guests consistently mention the beach itself as a reason to stay. The resort skews boutique rather than high-rise, and the vibe follows: low-key, adults-focused, with a spa that actually gets used. The price tier is top-end, but the value score holds at 4.5, which suggests people feel like they're getting what they paid for. Rooms are spacious and clean, though the 4.5 room rating means they're comfortable without being flashy. The Travelers Choice Best of the Best award for 2025 puts it in rare company — fewer than 1% of properties worldwide get that designation. If you want Eagle Beach access without the mega-resort apparatus, this is the pick.

Palm Beach

Papillon Restaurant

Papillon sits in The Village shopping center across from the Hilton on Palm Beach, and it's been collecting the #6 spot among 155 restaurants in the area for good reason. The kitchen runs French technique through a Caribbean filter — European fundamentals with island ingredients — and the 4.6 food rating holds across 2,400+ reviews. It's upscale without feeling stiff; the atmosphere scores slightly lower than the food, but that's splitting hairs at this level. Service matches the kitchen at 4.6, which matters when you're spending top-tier money. The Travelers' Choice award for 2025 confirms what the ranking already suggested: this is a consistent performer in a crowded Palm Beach scene. Value comes in at 4.3, which is fair — you're paying for execution and location, not for a deal. It's not a kid-friendly setup, so plan accordingly. Reservations aren't required according to the data, but walking in on a Saturday during high season is your own gamble.

Palm Beach

Linda's Dutch Pancakes

Linda's Dutch Pancakes is a casual spot on Palm Beach serving European-style pancakes — the thin, crepe-like kind you fill and fold, not the thick American stack. It ranks #37 out of 155 restaurants in the Palm-Eagle Beach area and picked up a Travelers Choice award for 2025, which tracks with the 4.5 food rating and strong value scores across two thousand reviews. The menu leans savory and sweet, and portions are big enough that one pancake often works as a full meal. The atmosphere rating is lower than the food, so expect a straightforward setup — this is about what's on the plate, not the scenery. Service is solid, and the price sits in the mid-range for the island. It's kid-friendly, which makes sense given the format. No reservation needed, but mornings can get busy. If you want a break from hotel breakfast or beachside grills, this does the job.
