About

Norrol Apartments is in Noord, a few minutes from the high-rise strip but not on the beach. It's a straightforward apartment setup — no casino, no all-inclusive package, and beach access comes by shuttle. The #38 ranking among Noord's specialty lodging puts it in the mid-pack, and the 4.3 rating holds across service and cleanliness, which both score above the rest. The property has roughly 100 units, so it's sizable but not massive. With a 4.5-star designation and nightly rates around $200, it sits in the moderate bracket — enough space and independence for families or longer stays without resort pricing. The walkability score is low, which tracks given the location; you'll want a car or rely on that shuttle. Service ratings edge slightly higher than the rooms themselves, and cleanliness is the strongest subrating at 4.5. If you're looking for a home-base apartment rather than a beach club experience, this works.

Perle d’Or

Perle d'Or sits in Noord, a short drive from the high-rise strip but outside the immediate beach zone. It ranks #22 among specialty lodging in the area—not top tier, but steady mid-pack with 242 reviews. The 3.3 overall rating tracks with most subratings hovering just over three stars, though service and value inch slightly higher at 3.6 each. This is budget-conscious territory. The property trades proximity and polish for a lower nightly rate, and the location score reflects that trade-off. Sleep quality and cleanliness land at 3.5, which suggests the basics are covered without much extra. If you're planning to spend most of your time at the beach or exploring and just need a clean bed and reliable air conditioning, the value rating makes sense. If you want walkability to restaurants or sand, you'll need a car or patience with a shuttle.

Arubiana Inn

Arubiana Inn sits in Noord, inland from the high-rise strip, and runs closer to a small hotel than a true B&B despite the category tag. The #1 ranking among inns in Noord comes from the service and value subratings, both at 4.3 — staff attention seems to carry the experience more than the rooms themselves, which clock in at 3.9. Location scores lower at 3.7, which tracks; you're not walking to beaches from here, though a shuttle runs guests over. The property holds around 100 rooms, so it's intimate by Aruba resort standards but not tiny. No casino, no all-inclusive package, no swim-up bars — the vibe skews quiet and boutique rather than activity-driven. The typical nightly rate around $350 suggests middle-tier pricing that aligns with the $$ marker, and the value rating implies guests feel they're getting what they pay for. If you want a lower-key base and don't mind the shuttle dependency, this works.

Aruba Boutique Apartments - Adults Only

Aruba Boutique Apartments sits in Noord, a short drive inland from the high-rise strip at Palm Beach. The adults-only policy keeps things calm, and the #1 ranking among Noord specialty lodging tracks with those perfect 5.0s in sleep quality and value — guests aren't paying resort prices but they're getting apartment-style space and kitchen setups that make longer stays easier. Back-to-back Travelers Choice awards in 2025 and 2026 point to consistency. The subratings are tight across the board: 4.9 for rooms and cleanliness, 4.8 for location (inland means quieter but you'll want a car), and 4.9 for service. The 170 reviews suggest steady traffic from people who wanted something off the beach but still polished. If you're looking for a pool bar and nightly entertainment, this isn't it. If you want a clean apartment with good AC and helpful hosts in a residential part of Noord, it does what it says.

Restaurants nearby

Eagle Beach

Madame Janette

Madame Janette sits just inland from Eagle Beach on Cunucu Abao, and it's been a fixture in Aruba's upscale dining scene for years. The #33 ranking among Palm-Eagle Beach restaurants tells part of the story — the 4.5 food rating and 4.4 atmosphere score show it still has defenders, but the 4.1 value rating and volume of feedback suggest the experience doesn't always land. Travelers consistently mention two things: no air conditioning in a tropical climate, and bugs. The outdoor setting is part of the concept, but humidity and insects are real factors if you're sensitive to either. The international menu aims for special-occasion polish, and the restaurant handles large groups, which matters if you're planning a celebration dinner and need a guaranteed table. But standards have slipped enough that regulars now point to Passions On The Beach for romance on the sand or Barefoot for more consistent upscale cooking. Reservations required. Expect top-tier prices.

Oranjestad

The West Deck

The West Deck sits right on the water at Governor's Bay Linear Park in Oranjestad, a casual spot where the harbor breeze does most of the work. The #15 ranking among Oranjestad restaurants tracks with what the subratings say — the atmosphere (4.8) pulls slightly ahead of the food (4.6), which tells you the location isn't just backdrop. The menu splits between American, Caribbean, and seafood, so you can go fried snapper or a burger depending on the mood. It earned Travelers Choice in 2025, and over 5,500 reviews have landed on 4.6 overall. Service runs at 4.7, which means you're not waiting forever for a refill, and the mid-range price tier keeps it accessible without feeling like a tourist trap. It's kid-friendly if you need that, though plenty of adults stop in solo for a beer and conch fritters at sunset. No reservations required — walk up, grab a table if one's open, and you're set.

Oranjestad

Barefoot Restaurant

Barefoot sits right on L.G. Smith Boulevard in Oranjestad, claiming the #37 spot among local restaurants and a 2025 Travelers Choice award. The upscale Caribbean-seafood-international menu runs at the top price tier, but unlike Madame Janette or The Flying Fishbone, you can walk in without a reservation — which is the entire appeal if you're staying in Palm Beach and want something nicer without the planning. The catch: noise. A neighboring club sends music across the dining area often enough that conversation becomes work, and beachside tables don't always deliver the views you'd expect at this price point. The 4.6 food rating tells part of the story — experiences vary more than they should. Service and atmosphere both score higher, so execution on those fronts is steadier. If spontaneity matters more than guaranteed quiet or sightlines, Barefoot works. If you're after the romantic beachfront meal without interruptions, Passions On The Beach handles that better without the sound bleed.

Beaches nearby

Eagle Beach

Druif Beach

Druif Beach sits just south of Eagle Beach on Aruba's west coast, and it's quieter than its famous neighbor without sacrificing sand quality. The #14 ranking among Oranjestad attractions undersells it — this is a serious swimming beach with calm, clear water and enough room to claim space even on busy days. The 4.6 rating from 171 reviews backs that up. No shade structures and no facilities, so bring what you need. The crowd level stays moderate, which is part of the appeal if you're tired of the high-rise strip. Families use it regularly because the water entry is gentle and the swimming quality is strong. Snorkeling is possible but not the main draw here — you're better off pointing north toward the wrecks or south toward Mangel Halto if that's the plan. It's a bring-your-own-everything setup. Cooler, umbrella, towels. The tradeoff is fewer vendors and a more residential vibe than the resort beaches up the road.

Oranjestad

Surfside Beach

Surfside Beach sits just west of downtown Oranjestad, close enough that you can walk from the cruise terminals if you're motivated. The #19 ranking among Oranjestad attractions and a 2025 Travelers Choice award suggest it's doing something right, though it's not competing with the famous stretches further north. The real draw is Pinchos, the beachfront restaurant where you can order grilled fish and sit with your feet nearly in the sand—convenience beats drama here. Swimming and snorkeling are both fine, not exceptional. There's no natural shade and no facilities to speak of, so plan accordingly. Families show up, but the nearby adults-only properties with private pools hint at the actual clientele: people who want a beach option without the drive to Eagle or the crowds at Palm. If you're staying in Oranjestad and need sand access that doesn't require a car, this works. Just don't expect Baby Beach-level water clarity or the postcard vibe of the northwest coast.
