Hotel Rh Boutique Aruba is a 4.5-star resort in Oranjestad with 20 rooms rated 4.8/5 by 245 TripAdvisor reviewers; typical rates from about $350 a night.

About

Hotel RH Boutique sits in a residential pocket of Oranjestad, a block or two from the cruise terminal buzz but still walkable to downtown restaurants and shops. It's a small operation — the kind where the owners know your name by breakfast — and the perfect-5.0 room score backs that up. Sleep quality and cleanliness both hit 4.9, which makes sense for a boutique property that can obsess over details bigger hotels miss. The #1 ranking among Oranjestad's B&Bs and inns came with back-to-back Travelers Choice wins, including Best of the Best in 2025. At a mid-tier price point, it threads the needle between barebone guesthouses and the high-rise resorts up the coast. Service runs at 4.9, so expect real answers when you ask where locals actually eat. If you want Palm Beach convenience, this isn't it. But if you're good trading resort sprawl for a quieter home base with capital-city access, the subratings suggest they're doing something right.

Recent Pulse

What travelers are saying.

Steady

Low confidence

Travelers say Hotel RH Boutique delivers a personal, family-run experience where staff remember your name and anticipate needs. Rooms consistently earn praise for spaciousness—many feature full kitchens with dishwashers, coffee makers, and toasters—and cleanliness rivals high-end resorts. The on-site café serves breakfast with scrambled eggs, arepas, and house-made chai, though it closes by 6–8pm. You're trading beachfront convenience for a residential-area calm: Eagle Beach sits 5–10 minutes away by car, and most agree a rental vehicle is essential. Staff members Kary, Rosaline, and Juana earn repeated shoutouts for solving last-minute problems and arranging car rentals at lower rates.

Watch-outs

One room's kitchen fridge produces constant noise audible from the sofa bed
1 mention
“Refrigerator noise made the living room unusable day and night in our five-person unit”
Café closes by 6–8pm, eliminating dinner option without leaving property
8 mentions
“Coffee shop shuts at 8pm which felt early for Argentinians used to late dining”

Tips from travelers

Rent a car before arrival—staff can negotiate lower rates if you book through them at check-in
Stock your kitchen at SuperFood grocery within 10 minutes; rooms lack starter coffee or tea supplies
Request a room away from the kitchen if traveling with a group using the sofa bed
Book breakfast at the café by 7am if you want the full menu before beach trips

Maybe skip if: Travelers wanting walkable beach access or on-site dinner service after 8pm should look at Palm Beach high-rises instead.

Renaissance Wind Creek Aruba Resort

Renaissance Wind Creek is the only resort in downtown Oranjestad, which means you're walking distance to restaurants and shops instead of being marooned on a beach strip. The real draw is Renaissance Island, the resort's private cay — flamingos included — which you reach by complimentary boat shuttle. It's a genuine differentiator and shows up in the 4.4 location subrating. The #2 spot among Oranjestad hotels reflects consistent execution across the board: service, cleanliness, and sleep quality all hover around 4.3. Two consecutive Travelers Choice awards suggest the formula holds. The room rating sits a notch lower at 4.0, which tracks for a property this size in an urban footprint — you're trading space for location and island access. If you want a resort experience but also want to be in the capital, this is the only option that does both. The flamingo thing is real, not a gimmick, and day passes for non-guests sell out fast.

A1 Apartments Aruba

A1 Apartments sits a few blocks inland from Oranjestad's waterfront, away from the resort strip but close enough to walk into the capital for groceries or the weekly street market. It's ranked #5 among specialty lodging in Oranjestad, with a 4.6 overall rating that holds across the board—sleep quality, cleanliness, and service all land at 4.6 or higher. The value rating matches, which makes sense at this price tier when you're getting apartment-style space instead of a standard hotel box. Service scores a 4.7, the highest of the subratings, so the small-property attention shows up. Location sits at 4.5—you're trading beachfront access for a quieter base and lower nightly rates. Rooms come in at 4.3, which is solid for self-catering setups where you're managing your own kitchen and living area. If you want the condo flexibility without paying resort prices and don't need sand outside your door, this is the play.

Aruba Surfside Marina

Aruba Surfside Marina sits on Surfside Beach just outside the center of Oranjestad, ranked #3 among the capital's smaller properties. The 4.7 rating holds across 156 reviews, but the subratings tell the real story — rooms and cleanliness both hit 4.9, which is rare outside the luxury tier. The setup skews more apartment-style than hotel, and the value score reflects that: you're getting space and a kitchen at a mid-range price. Location works if you want proximity to town without the high-rise strip. Surfside Beach is calmer and narrower than Eagle or Palm, but it's walkable to the cruise terminal and downtown restaurants. The sleep quality and service ratings suggest the place runs tight — maintenance shows up, requests get handled. It's not trying to be a full-service resort, but at this price level and size, consistency matters more than amenities.

Restaurants nearby

Palm Beach

Gianni's Ristorante Italiano

Gianni's sits on the hotel strip in Palm Beach, an upscale Italian spot serving Neapolitan and Sicilian dishes. The #22 ranking among 155 Palm Beach restaurants puts it solidly mid-pack, and the ratings reflect that: 4.4 for food, 4.5 for atmosphere, 4.0 for value. It's a convenient walk from the high-rise hotels, takes reservations, and handles families without fuss. The upside is accessibility — if you're staying on Palm Beach and want Italian without getting in a car, it's there. The trade-off is that you're paying upper-mid pricing for food that doesn't always land as authentic. The atmosphere scores higher than the cooking, which tells you something about the experience. If you're traveling with kids who eat pasta and you need outdoor seating near your hotel, it works. If you're chasing the best Italian on the island or want your money to stretch further, you'll find stronger options in Savaneta or Eagle Beach.

Eagle Beach

Madame Janette

Madame Janette sits just inland from Eagle Beach on Cunucu Abao, and it's been a fixture in Aruba's upscale dining scene for years. The #33 ranking among Palm-Eagle Beach restaurants tells part of the story — the 4.5 food rating and 4.4 atmosphere score show it still has defenders, but the 4.1 value rating and volume of feedback suggest the experience doesn't always land. Travelers consistently mention two things: no air conditioning in a tropical climate, and bugs. The outdoor setting is part of the concept, but humidity and insects are real factors if you're sensitive to either. The international menu aims for special-occasion polish, and the restaurant handles large groups, which matters if you're planning a celebration dinner and need a guaranteed table. But standards have slipped enough that regulars now point to Passions On The Beach for romance on the sand or Barefoot for more consistent upscale cooking. Reservations required. Expect top-tier prices.

Oranjestad

The West Deck

The West Deck sits right on the water at Governor's Bay Linear Park in Oranjestad, a casual spot where the harbor breeze does most of the work. The #15 ranking among Oranjestad restaurants tracks with what the subratings say — the atmosphere (4.8) pulls slightly ahead of the food (4.6), which tells you the location isn't just backdrop. The menu splits between American, Caribbean, and seafood, so you can go fried snapper or a burger depending on the mood. It earned Travelers Choice in 2025, and over 5,500 reviews have landed on 4.6 overall. Service runs at 4.7, which means you're not waiting forever for a refill, and the mid-range price tier keeps it accessible without feeling like a tourist trap. It's kid-friendly if you need that, though plenty of adults stop in solo for a beer and conch fritters at sunset. No reservations required — walk up, grab a table if one's open, and you're set.

Beaches nearby

Eagle Beach

Eagle Beach runs along the southwestern coast between the high-rise strip and the airport, and it's consistently ranked among the Caribbean's best beaches. The sand is white and wide, the water is calm and swimmable, and the iconic divi divi trees lean sideways from decades of trade winds — those same winds that earned it four Travelers Choice awards also mean you'll deal with blowing sand most afternoons. The #5 ranking among Palm-Eagle Beach attractions reflects what it does well: fewer crowds than Palm Beach, better sand than most hotel beaches, and enough space that you can claim a spot without stepping over tourists. It's popular with couples and wedding parties for a reason — the divi divis photograph beautifully and the vibe is quieter than the action up north. Snorkeling is unremarkable here; the marine life and visibility don't compete with Baby Beach or Malmok. If you're bringing small kids, the wind can turn a beach day into a sand-in-everything situation. Visit early if you want calmer conditions.

Eagle Beach

Druif Beach

Druif Beach sits just south of Eagle Beach on Aruba's west coast, and it's quieter than its famous neighbor without sacrificing sand quality. The #14 ranking among Oranjestad attractions undersells it — this is a serious swimming beach with calm, clear water and enough room to claim space even on busy days. The 4.6 rating from 171 reviews backs that up. No shade structures and no facilities, so bring what you need. The crowd level stays moderate, which is part of the appeal if you're tired of the high-rise strip. Families use it regularly because the water entry is gentle and the swimming quality is strong. Snorkeling is possible but not the main draw here — you're better off pointing north toward the wrecks or south toward Mangel Halto if that's the plan. It's a bring-your-own-everything setup. Cooler, umbrella, towels. The tradeoff is fewer vendors and a more residential vibe than the resort beaches up the road.
