Way 1
Off-road bus or truck through the backcountry
This is the default Aruba tour: four hours in an open-air vehicle bouncing through the national park, stopping at the Bushiribana gold mill, Natural Bridge remnants, and sometimes Hooiberg if you want the 560-step climb. You're on rough roads, dust is part of it, and you'll see the desert scrub side of the island most visitors miss from the beach.
Why you'll love it
- Covers the most ground in one shot — Natural Bridge, gold mill, Arikok terrain
- Moderate intensity; no real hiking unless you opt into Hooiberg
- Guides know the island's history and geology, not just photo stops
- Multiple operators mean frequent departures
Worth knowing
- Dusty and bumpy — you're on dirt roads most of the trip
- Groups can be large, which slows down stops
- Not much flexibility; you're on the operator's clock
Best for: First-timers who want the full island checklist without planning six separate stops.
Typical price: $75–85 per person
